Why We Need SlutWalk: A study in comments
jessicavalenti: trigger warning There’s been some controversy over the SlutWalk protests taking place across the world. There’s a lot to say, but until I have the time to write something comprehensive, I thought I would let oh-so-lovely commenters from around the globe demonstrate why SlutWalks are so desperately needed.  CNN: “I kind of feel sorry for the police officer. I understand that he...

Individuality
The world is constantly putting labels on people - defining them. Telling them who they are, what they are and how they feel. Uniformity is universal. If you smile and talk a lot you’re cool and popular. If you’re antisocial you’re a loser. It’s always either one or the other. The scary part is how accepting people are of this delusion of existence. They allow themselves to be put into stereotypes...

An elderly couple came to my work, at the clinic, yesterday to get their flu shots. The husband went first, then the wife. As the wife walked towards her husband he jumps up, walks up to her, and hugs her. After a very loving embrace he asked if she’s ok and if it hurt. She smiled sweetly and said she was ok. They grabbed each other’s hand and proceeded to the exit. *tear* #want.
